Breeding

Breeding starts with well thought out objectives based on market research. Following this a small brush is used to remove the pollen from the flowers in order to cross the correct breeding stock. The breeding is done at our new location in Maasdijk in the Netherlands, which was brought into use in 2007.

Development of seedlings

After pollination seeds form, which are then nurtured to become flowering plants. A number of these plants are then selected for duplication by making cuttings (clones). This is the beginning of a new variety. We aim for the greatest diversity of varieties that are interesting for the market and growers from a technical viewpoint, as is possible.
