The exceptionally striking presentation of ‘Gagarin’, the new disbudded chrysanthemum, made an eye-catching feature at Deliflor’s stand at the popular flower trade fair, Flowers Expo Moscow, held from 17-19 September. Deliflor has been a regular exhibitor at this most important flower trade fair in Eastern Europe for many years.
As soon as the doors opened and throughout the fair, visitors - mainly florists and wholesalers from everywhere in Eastern Europe - flooded the exhibition floor. ‘Gagarin’, Deliflor’s new white disbudded chrysanthemum which will be supplied by VannoVa J&A Flowers, will become available at the Dutch auction for the first time during week 40.
The presentation was very well received and many visitors had their picture taken with ‘Yuri Gagarin’. Reactions revealed a promising future for ‘Gagarin’. Florists especially appreciated its pure whiteness, its size and its elegantly turned central petals .
In addition to ‘Gagarin’, visitors were also interested in the other introductions that Deliflor had on display this year. For many, ‘Limoncello’ and ‘Baltica Cream’ have become almost staple items even though these varieties only appeared on the market this year. Another remarkable fact was that so many people were familiar with the ‘Yin Yang’ Santini. Even though Santini varieties account for only a small part of the Eastern Europe market, almost everyone had heard of the black and white Santini which has only been available for some 15 weeks now.
These and other successful introductions made quite an impression on wholesalers and florists alike. It was no surprise, then, that exhibition visitors came to the stand in large numbers to catch up on the latest developments and to hear more about new, upcoming varieties.
